Friday night, it was an experienced Yorktown squad against the athletic, but young, Anderson team. Experience played a factor at Yorktown High School where the Tigers were victorious 58-49 over the Anderson Indians. The trio of Caleb Morey, Riley Miller, and Riley Neal powered the Tigers by scoring a combined 48 out of the 58 points on the final scoreboard. Anderson was led by Dionte Raines who had a game high of 25 points.

Yorktown led the whole way keeping Anderson at an “arm’s length”. This Yorktown team is built around their consistency, experience, and veteran mentality. Yorktown plays within themselves and are very fundamentally sound.  Sometimes in basketball that’s what wins out, and that’s exactly how it played out on Friday night.

The win brings Yorktown to 4-3 on the season. (Now 4-4 after their loss to Shelbyville on Saturday). They play next at Blackford on Saturday.  We will see them again in the Delaware County Tournament starting on the 13th of January. We will have full coverage of the Yorktown and Delta games throughout the tournament next week on Fox Sports Radio.
