It has now been nearly 5 months into my role here at Fox Sports Radio as the Sports Director and, in that time, I have been the host of the Colts Camp Report this past August, play-by-play voice of High School Sports on Friday nights, and the host of Cardinal Talk every Thursday from 5pm to 6pm. It sounds like a lot, yes, but I don’t think of that way. The only thing it has been a lot of is fun. Almost too much fun! However, there has been one thing I have neglected to do: introduce myself.
I am from Carmel, Indiana where I graduated from Carmel High School. I was fortunate to be part of such a supportive and growing community. Upon graduation of high school, I went to the University of Indianapolis. During my 4 years at UIndy, I was a member of the Sports Department of 88.7 FM WICR. The experiences and lessons I learned from that station are the reason I’ve made it here to Muncie. My mentors at UIndy believed in me and gave me many great opportunities.
The real reason for this letter is to explain why I’m here. When describing Muncie to people outside of this city, the two words I use most are ‘unique’ and ‘active’. Those two words are what Muncie is all about and local sports are a great way to see it firsthand. It didn’t take me long to realize this. The first football game I called was at Muncie Central High School, and quite frankly, I didn’t know what to expect. Well, I was blown away to say the least. The support each of you provides, whether it’s high schools in the area or Ball State, makes Muncie what it is. That’s what Fox Sports Radio is about…keeping it local. We want to give you the best high school games, Ball State coverage, and make sure you’re in the know of everything sports wise in this community. We don’t just want to give the coverage to the local schools. We want to do it well. And we will!
Thank you for listening to our station. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with feedback. We are ALWAYS open to your comments.
All the best,
