Delta at Yorktown-Boys Basketball

On a special night for Yorktown Basketball, they won in convincing fashion. The Tigers sported special National Guard Uniforms while defeating the Eagles 51 to 40 in that game that was much more lopsided than the final score suggested. Caleb Morey led the way with a game high 18 point night while Riley Neal added 12 points to help the Tigers.

Yorktown started off hot with an 8-0 in the first quarter. Delta did claw their way back with 5 straight points from Tanner Lambert. Lambert finished with 14 points. The first quarter was capped off by a desperation three by Caleb Morey that found the net to make it 18-11 Yorktown after one.

The second quarter was sloppy, lacked enthusiasm, and a struggle for both teams. They combined for just 7 points in the quarter. At the half it was 21-15 Yorktown. The third quarter is where the Tigers pulled away with impressive offensive versatility led by Morey. The Tigers held a 15 point lead at the end of three and never looked back.

The Tigers won their third straight game along with their 5th straight win in the rivalry with Delta. They are now 3-1 on the season. Tomorrow they face Liberty Christian in a neutral site game at Anderson University.
