After a trying evening on the floor and emotionally the night before, Muncie Central ran through Delta 72-61. While the Bearcats struggled offensively just 24 hours previous, they had no troubles on Saturday night by putting up the most points in any game this season. This came against a Delta team who prides themselves on being sound defensively. However on this night, it was Muncie Central who shined defensively sporting their full court pressure.
For the Bearcats, they had three players in double figures led by sophomore Jamel Barnes with 15 points. Next was Marcus Dukes who had 14 (his 4th straight double figure scoring game). The Bearcats were up as much as 23 points in the game but were outscored 27-16 in the 4th quarter. Coach Jeff Holloway focused on that in his postgame interview (LISTEN BELOW). Muncie Central is now 3-4 and face Fishers tomorrow on the road to end their 2014 campaign.
Delta received solid production from the Slaven brothers who combined for 44 of the 61 Delta points. It was Kaleb who had a game high 24 points. The Eagles struggled with the full court pressure on offense from the Bearcats. Delta, now 2-5, is off until after the New Year when they face Shenandoah at home.
